After two and a half months of strict lockdown rules, things are slowly and gradually easing now, but with proper precautions. When the lockdown was announced, everything came to a sudden halt- including filming TV shows and movies. However, now, the Maharashtra Government has finally relaxed some of the rules and have allowed TV and film shoots to resume in non-containment zones with proper measures in place. A senior citizen clause in the state government’s notice barred all actors aged 65 and above to work, as a precautionary measure. Fans of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah wonder if Ghanashyam Nayak aka Nattu Kaka will return. Asit Modi opened up about it, read on!
As anybody aged 65 or above won’t be allowed on set, it has raised questions about whether viewers will still see Nattu Kaka on the show. Producer Asit Modi opened up about it and while speaking to ETimes, he said, “Most senior artists don’t have an alternative source of income. Who will take care of their expenses? Also, there is no such rule for senior citizens, who run small shops. So, why should such a rule be implemented in our line of work?”
He further stated that not having senior actors will affect the continuity of the show and he has urged people to come together and request the government to reconsider.
“The new GR is applicable for two months and will be amended later. But not having a pivotal character played by a senior artist will affect the continuity until then. Everyone has to come together to request the government to rethink and reconsider this rule,” said Asit Modi.
