Actor Raj Anadkat, whom we know as Tapu from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has been a part of many TV shows before. Among which, there was also Siddharth Kumar Tewary's Mahabharat starring Shaheer Sheikh as Arjun and Pooja Sharma as Draupadi. However, not many know that Raj was a part of it until the popular show was rerun amidst of this lockdown.
Talking to us exclusively, Raj revealed that before doing Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, he has done many shows as character artist. "Right from Ek Rishta Saajedari Ka, Ek Muthi Aasman, Mahabharat, I have been a part of many. It wasn't a very important character but I played third borther of Kauravas among 100 and I was part of the show until the leap was introduced," said Raj.
The actor also added that how his fans has been sending him messages about noticing him in Mahabharat. Raj said, "I am not watching the re-telecast but many of my fans are watching it and they keep sending me screen shots and ask if it's me? So, I feel that great finally I am being noticed (laughs). After seeing the responses I did see one of the episodes, where I could see myself minorly. I was 15-year-old when I shot for it."
Coming to Raj, in an earlier interview with a section of media, he had shared how the actor's mother has been supportive of his profession. He said, "My mother has been quite instrumental in getting me into this field. She was very keen on seeing me on screen. She used to take me for various auditions and that’s how my journey started."
Raj further added that all his family members were in tears when they saw him on screen for the first time. He stated, "Once I had casually told my mother that I will work with Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah cast and the wish just manifested and I bagged the show. I remember my mother and other family members were emotional and teary eyed when they saw me on the show."
