It's been almost three years that we haven't seen Daya ben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Yes, the character played by Disha Vakani has been missing in action ever since the actress went on her maternity leave and then eventually quit the show to raise her daughter. But she is still missed by her on-screen family.
Well, we recently had an excluisve conversation with Taarak actor Raj Anadkat, who plays Tapu in the show. During our chat, Disha Vakani was also discussed and the actor spoke about their equation quite fondly.
Raj, who stepped into Bhavya Gandhi's (earlier played Tapu) shoes in 2017 said, "I got to work with Disha Vakani for 6-7 months when I had joined the show. When we used to do readings together, before the scene, she rehearsed lines with me, until I got comfortable with the scene. And the best thing was she used to call me 'Dikku' off the camera also."
When asked if he misses her on the sets, Raj said, "Yes, not just me but everyone on the sets misses her. Especially when we are shooting for any kind of celebration where garba dance is involved. Unki kami mehsoos hoti hai."
Talking about Disha Vakani, who usually keeps her self away from media and likes to have a low-key when it comes to her personal life, spoke to us at length, a few weeks back, about how is she managing her daughter during the lockdown and also shared her mantra to fight with this pandemic situation by chanting mantras.
Coming to Raj aka Tapu missing Daya ben, well, we're sure even fans miss the iconic character a lot.
