We brought you the news that The Kapil Sharma Show will go off air, thanks to the ill-health of Kapil Sharma. And just a day later, his former colleague Sunil Grover has been rushed to the hospital after being diagnosed with dengue.

Sunil Grover As Dr Mashoor Gulati

Sunil Grover, who is known for playing Dr Mashoor Gulati and Rinku Devi on The Kapil Sharma Show, was unwell for the last couple of days and as soon as he was diagnosed with dengue, he was admitted to Asian Heart Institute in Mumbai.

Sunil himself has confirmed the news to a leading daily.

The popular artiste has been missing from the TV screens for more than six months now after quitting The Kapil Sharma Show thanks to a fight with Kapil Sharma. A drunk Kapil had attacked Sunil while on-board a flight from Australia.

Soon Chandan Prabhakar, Ali Asgar and Sugandha Mishra also left the show and the mass exodus of talent led to a startling dip in TRPs for The Kapil Sharma Show.

And yesterday, Sony announced that the show is going on a hiatus.

Kapil has been keeping unwell, and many big-ticket celebrities, from Shah Rukh Khan to Anil Kapoor have had to return from the sets thanks to the comedian’s inability to shoot.

An official spokesperson from the channel had sent out a statement saying: “Kapil has been under the weather for sometime now. Due to which, we have mutually agreed to take a short break. However once Kapil has recovered completely, we will start shooting once again. We value our relationship with Kapil and wish him a speedy recovery.”
