I have had an Appointment Viewing relationship with Sony's Crime Patrol. My relationship is on the rocks, today. I am bitter. I am disgusted. I needed to find out who's the villain-of-the-piece.

My sleuths tell me that the show's producer Optimystix, led by Sanjeev Vyas and Vipul D Shah, has opted out. Reason- the man who was making the show for them all along since 2010, Subbu, has moved on citing he wants to do something different in life,- but yes, he had a few monetary issues with Sony no doubt. Consequently, Sony is now making the show with multiple producers.

So why has my relationship with CP been hit? Sony has compromised on quality. See the programme now and you will tear your hair out.

Several plots and subplots in one story and the killer often has no relevance to the main characters. The actors who are being cast as cops are expressionless. The actors who are being cast other than cops are as blank as white paper. And gosh, where's the upright lady officer- an ocean of talent- who was always a part of the show until recently?

Has Sony cut down its budget on CP? Are the multiple producers not talented enough in terms of weaving a good story and screenplay? Kaam chalau formula being adopted. Too many cooks and the broth has been spoiled.

I learn that CP Satark was slipping a bit in TRPs recently-  but pray, how can boredom compensate for intrigue?

Sony, have you tuned in? I bet you have!

The latest version of Crime Patrol is called Crime Patrol Black Headlines. It's black, indeed.

Kisiko koi shaque? Mujhe to bilkul nahin.
