This quarantine has actually taken us back in time. All the hit shows of the 80s and 90s have made a comeback on Television. Starting with Ramayan shows like BR Chopra's Mahabharat and Krishna have made a comeback on the small screen. Fans are enjoying and reliving the era of the mythological shows that once made up for our childhood. On this note, we bring to you an old video of Sonu Nigam crooning Mahabharat's title track in front of director BR Chopra and actor Mukhesh Khanna.
In the video that has been uploaded on the singer's YouTube channel, we see young Sonu confidentially crooning the title track. This was before Sonu Nigam made his debut as a playback singer in Bollywood. He performed at Aadharshila Awards Function at Talkatora Indore Stadium on September 17, 1989 where quite a few actors who played pivotal roles in Mahabharat were present. Mukesh Khanna played the role of Bhishma Pitama in the serial.
Sonu had also shared the video on his Instagram account and captioned it as, "Singing Mahabharat song | Aadharshila Awards Function | 17th September,1989 Sharing one of the precious videos from the good old days. Here at Talkatora Indore Stadium, I was singing the Mahabharat song which I had mastered completely based on my memory, we did not have video streaming platforms like YouTube those days."
