Sneha Wagh Opens Up On Samir Sharma’s Suicide During COVID-19: ‘He Was A Jolly Guy, Except Nahi Tha Aisi Cheez Hogi’

Actress Sneha Wagh became a household name with her portrayal of Ratan Singh in Ek Veer Ki Ardaas...Veera and playing the titular role in the serial Jyoti. She went on to establish her career in the Hindi and Marathi television industries after she participated in Bigg Boss Marathi season 3. Having been in the entertainment industry for over two decades, she recently opened up about how emotionally and mentally challenging the pandemic was and how Samir Sharma’s suicide came as a shock. For those who don’t know, Sneha worked with Samir in Jyoti. 

In an interview with Telly Talk, the 33-year-old actress shared that during the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone was struggling, and hearing about Sharma’s untimely demise came as a shock. She revealed that he had not been in contact with the actor at that time. The actress further added how she also struggling because of her father’s passing. Quoted by the Free Press Journal, she added, “ Woh ek time tha jo bahut sikha ke gaya, some people were struggling mentally, some emotionally, some physically. I think everybody was struggling at that time.”

Talking about Samir’s shocking passing, which happened over 4 years ago, Wagh said, “Samir was very young, it was not unexpected. He was a jolly guy, except nahi tha aaisi cheez hogi. I do not want any such thing to happen with anyone that would disturb us emotionally, physically, or mentally.”

For the unversed, Samir Shah was found dead at his Malad residence on the night of August 5, 2020. It was reported that as per his body’s condition, he had hanged himself a few days prior to being found. While his death was ruled as a suicide, no note was found. 


On the work front, Sneha Wagh was last seen in Neerja – Ek Nayi Pehchaan (2023-2024). Aired on Colors TV, the serial also starred Aastha Sharma, Rajveer Singh, Kamya Panjabi, and Alma Hussein in pivotal roles.
