Popular TV actress Shweta Tiwari has been unlucky not once but twice in finding the right man for her. She dealt with two failed marriages and has never shied away from talking about it in public. For the unversed, Shweta got married to Bhojpuri actor Raja Chaudhary but they divorced in 2007. She later tied the knot with Abhinav Kohli however even they parted ways in 2019. Now in a recent interview, the Kasautii Zindagi Kay actress expressed her views on marriage and asserted that she no longer 'believes in the institution of marriage'.
Speaking with Etimes TV, Shweta also mentioned that she has even asked her daughter Palak Tiwari not to get married. She explained that just because someone is in a relationship, it doesn’t have to culminate into marriage. The actress was quoted saying, “I don’t believe in the institution of marriage. In fact, I even tell my daughter not to get married. It’s her life and I don’t dictate to her how to lead it, but I want her to think well before taking the plunge. Just because you are in a relationship, it doesn’t have to culminate into marriage.”

The 41-year-old actress added “Life mein shaadi karna bahut zaoori hai aur shaadi ke bina zindagi kaise chalegi yeh nahi hona chahiye. Having said that, not every marriage is bad. I have many friends who are happily married and I am happy for them. But I have also seen some of my friends stay in a compromised marriage, which isn’t healthy for them or their children.”
She went on to assert that she tells her daughter to do what makes her happy and not to give into societal pressure. While Palak Tiwari is her daughter from her first marriage to Raja Chaudhary, she shares her son Reyansh with Abhinav Kohli.
In terms of work, Shweta Tiwari will next be seen in the show ‘Main Hoon Aparajita’ which marks her return to the fiction genre after a gap of two-year. The show revolves around her character that looks after her family and raises her three daughters single-handedly.
