Elvish Yadav, the winner of Bigg Boss OTT, has been taken into custody in connection with the snake venom-rave party incident. Following a day of questioning, Mr. Yadav is set to appear before a court imminently. A Wildlife Act case was filed against him and five others in Noida for organizing snake venom as a recreational substance at rave gatherings last year. Last November, a banquet hall in sector 51 of Noida was raided by the police, resulting in the arrest of five individuals, including four snake charmers, and the seizure of nine snakes and poison. Apart from the rave events, allegations surfaced that Mr. Yadav employed snakes for his video shoots, a theme prevalent in numerous videos on his YouTube channel.
After viewing Elvish Yadav's snake-related content, the animal rights organization PFA (People For Animals), led by BJP figure Maneka Gandhi, contacted him anonymously. They solicited snakes and venom from him, prompting Mr. Yadav to refer them to a person named Rahul who directed them to the sector 51 banquet. Subsequently, the PFA team encountered four snake charmers with nine snakes, including five cobras and 20 ml of snake poison. Noida Police and the Forest Department intervened swiftly, resulting in the arrest of all involved.
Mr. Yadav, who has faced police inquiries previously, has vehemently denied any involvement in the affair, labeling the accusations as "baseless, fake, and entirely untrue." While authorities indicated that he was not physically present at the party venue, they are investigating his role in the incident. Maneka Gandhi, however, accused Mr. Yadav of illicitly trading snake venom and demanded his immediate apprehension. "He may have evaded capture for now, but his arrest must be ensured," Ms Gandhi emphasized to the media.
