Shark Tank India is all set to launch its much-anticipated third season, building on the triumphs of its preceding installments. The creators have unveiled an exciting addition to the judging panel for the upcoming season - the distinguished entrepreneur and film producer, Ronnie Screwvala. Known for his pivotal roles in founding UpGrad, RSVP Movies, and leading UTV Motion Pictures in the past, Screwvala brings a rich tapestry of experiences to the panel. His illustrious journey in the film industry and remarkable success in entrepreneurship are poised to elevate the platform.
Born into a Parsi family in Mumbai, Ronnie Screwvala received his education at the renowned Cathedral and John Connon School, followed by Sydenham College. With a current net worth exceeding Rs 12,000 Crore according to DNA, Ronnie Screwvala's entrepreneurial journey commenced in the 1970s as a toothbrush manufacturer. By 1981, he expanded his endeavors to include a cable TV business. However, it was in 1990 that he made a significant leap by founding UTV, initially known for television production before venturing into film production.
One of the hallmark moments in his career unfolded in 2012 when he orchestrated the sale of his UTV shares to Disney, a deal surpassing a billion dollars. Post this landmark achievement, he continued making strides in the entertainment industry by establishing RSVP Movies in 2014 and co-founding UpGrad in 2015, in collaboration with three IIT graduates - Mayank Kumar, Phalgun Kompalli, and Ravijot Chugh.
Ronnie Screwvala joins the original panelists - Aman Gupta, Anupam Mittal, Namita Thapar, Vineeta Singh, and Peyush Bansal, alongside newly introduced judges Amit Jain, Ritesh Agarwal, Deepinder Goyal, Azhar Iqubal, Radhika Gupta, and Varun Dua for the upcoming season of Shark Tank India Season 3. The show is scheduled to premiere in January.
