Being India’s first finance reality show, Shark Tank has garnered a huge fanbase. The audience religiously watches the show. Not only do they root for the pitchers that come on stage to showcase their brands, but they also heap praises on the chemistry of the judges. In the latest episode, it was seen that Aman Gupta was constantly taking subtle digs at Amit Jain which left everyone in splits.
The episode started with Raipur entrepreneur duo who own ZOFF- Zone Of Fresh Food pitching their masala brand to the sharks. When Manita Thapar, who does cooking, questioned their decision to enter a well established market, one of the pitchers smartly points out, “Aap Pune mein beth ke 3 masale dekh rahe ho.” ALSO READ: WHAT! The comeback leaves everyone laughing. The sharks are left impressed with their Rs. 4.5 crore online sales and Rs. 2.5 crore offline sales. During the battle of investing between the judges, Aman tells Amit, “aap bas dekhte rehte ho, offer nahi dete.” The sharks are left in awe as the brand Desi Toys makes them revisit their childhood. Impressed by the products, Jain decides to make an offer, not to the brand, but the entrepreneur hoping that she would make a different vertical in the same category. While discussing the offer, Vineeta Singh chimes in that the name could be ‘funky toys,’ to which Aman interrupts and says, “No, not funny toys, toys dekho” (A word play on Amit’s company CarDekho). Amit proceeds to retort that the founder was ready to choose her brand name, which she refuses.
Talking about the show, the show is the Indian franchise of the American show of the same name, where known entrepreneurs listen to different business ideas and decide whether or not they want to invest in those ideas.
The current season sees Anupam Mittal (Founder and CEO of Shaadi.com), Aman Gupta (Co-Founder and CMO of boat), Namita Thapar (Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (Co-Founder and CEO of Sugar Cosmetics), Peyush Bansal (Founder & CEO of Lenskart.com) and Amit Jain (Co-Founder of CarDekho) as the sharks. Comedian Rahul Dua hosts the show.
