Drashti who plays Nandini Thakur in Colors’ Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka says Independence is all about freedom of expression and choice for her. “I'm proud to be a part of independent India as it enters its 71st year. I think patriotism and freedom of speech shouldn't be restrained to special dates but should be practiced on daily basis. I have a deep respect for the people who fought for our country's freedom and as a citizen's we should ensure that each step which we take is for our countries betterment,” says the actress.

Shakti who plays Kunal Malhotra in Colors’ Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka says the day has held special importance for him since he was a kid. “August 15 is a very special day for us and as a kid, I used to wave when the flag used to be hoisted in my school post which we would run and fight to grab sweets. I am proud to be an Indian, though we have diverse cultures, different languages, attires, but still we are ONE. As citizens, we should decide to do something good for the country,” gushes Shakti.

Abhinav plays Rajdeep Thakur in the same show and says that the sacrifices of our freedom fighters should not be taken lightly. “Independence was costly, few people sacrificed their lives so that many can live with freedom, let’s make there sacrifice worth it!   Let’s be responsible citizens and let’s take our country forward!,” says Abhinav.

Ritvik plaus Ahaan Dhanrajgir in the popular show Tu Aashiqui and says,“The day when we Indians truly recall our identities and take off the masks of caste and creed, Independence Day has always held a very special place in our lives. I remember how we used to fly kites and party all day celebrating the feeling of oneness. Wishing everyone a very happy Independence Day.”

Shivin who is making his debut with the Colors’ show  Internet Wala Love says, “Independence Day takes me back to my school days. As a kid and even now, it fills me with immense pride to see our tricolor soar high in the sky. I’m fortunate to be part of such a culturally and spiritually rich country where people get to lead a happy, fulfilling life. I am thankful for the great men who have fought and keep fighting at the borders for our freedom and peace. I hope our country progresses more with every passing day and we attain more glories.”
