Sanjivani 2 starring Mohnish Bahl, Surbhi Chandra and others kicked off with a bang. However, the show failed to keep up with the buzz. It did not match the standards set by the original Sanjivani and it tanked on the TRP ratings. Now, the show's timing has also changed. From 7.30 pm, Sanjivani 2 has shifted to 6.30 pm slot. Moreover, there's another change in the show. Mohnish Bahl who essayed the role of Dr Shashank in the medical drama has decided to quit the show.
In the latest interview with Times Of India, Mohnish revealed the reason why. The senior actor who was also a part of the original Sanjivani stated that he wasn't doing justice to the character and that he did not want to disappoint the audiences. He was quoted saying, "I decided to opt out and it was an amicable decision. I felt that I was not able to justify my role as Dr Shashank Gupta in the current season, as compared to the previous ones. I did not want to let down my viewers, so it was best to move on."
He further stated, "When this show started in August 2019, my track was going well, but things changed later. I discussed it with the makers and we tried exploring new angles, but they didn’t materialise. An actor can creatively enhance his character if there is clarity in the track or he is given the script much in advance, which unfortunately was not the case."
Well, Sanjivani 2 won't be the same without Dr Shashank.
