Bigg Boss Kannada 5 contestant Samyuktha Hegde who has also been part of a popular dating reality show in Hindi space recently got harassed by a woman who misbehaved with her friends and her for wearing a sports bra while working out. Samyuktha shared a string of videos on her Instagram and mentioned about the incident that happened with her friends and her for wearing sports wear, while they worked out in a park in Bengaluru. After her post, a lot of people extended support to her including Bollywood actress Richa Chadha. And now the attacker has deleted the posts from her profile, having apologised to the actress and her friends in an open letter.
She shared the apology letter by Kavitha Reddy (attacker) where the lady called the incident unfortunate, and said she was feeling sorry for it. Also mentioning that no woman should undergo what happened to them and informing that she has taken out all the posts, Samyuktha captioned, "Apologies accepted Ms Kavitha Reddy. I hope we can all move forward from the incident and make women feel safe everywhere #thankyouuniverse #servedhotandfresh". For those who are uninitiated, Samyuktha Hegde in her Instagram post yesterday had mentioned, "After being in a democracy and following all the norms of social distancing, we were abused and ridiculed by Kavitha Reddy and the mob in Agara Lake for practising our hula-hoop while wearing sportswear. Despite being polite and trying to solve the problem, the lady hit my friend and used disparaging remarks about me and my friends.” The actress had also added she was extremely disappointed with how the police who came to the location behaved, and mentioned that they spoke with the woman with respect, while they asked her to be quiet." Apart from sharing the string of videos on her Instagram account, Samyuktha Hegde also tagged Bengaluru Police on Twitter and requested them to look into the matter. Tagging concerned authorities on Twitter, she wrote, “The future of our country reflects on what we do today. We were abused and ridiculed by Kavitha Reddy at Agara Lake. There are witnesses and more video evidence. I request you to look into this. #thisisWRONG.” Hegde mentioned how what happened with her friends and her at the park was wrong and shared that there are witnesses and more video evidence.
However the matter has been resolved for now as Samyuktha has accepted the apologies from her attacker and has decided to move forward.
