Salil Ankola Put On Ventilator After Testing Positive For COVID-19; Says, ‘It Has Been A Scary Time’

TV’s popular actor Salil Ankola broke the news of being COVID-19 positive via his social media account. The actor who was earlier home quarantined after he was detected with the deadly virus, was later shifted to the hospital as his health deteriorated.  Though the actor still continues to be hospitalised being treated for COVID-19, he spoke to ETimes and confirmed feeling better. However, he also shared he was shocked and shaken up. The actor during the conversation shared how it all began.

While the actor was about to jet off to Jaipur he took COVID-19 test and his test results turned out to be positive. Followed by the trip being cancelled and the actor chose to isolate himself by being home quarantined. However, a few days later he complained of breathlessness and congestion in chest. Post which his wife Ria, got a doctor and then it was decided that he should be shifted to a hospital. The actor’s oxygen level had also dropped, and he was put on a ventilator. 

He said, “It all began when I was about to fly out to Jaipur and hence underwent a COVID test. I was shocked that the test came out positive.”


“My oxygen level had dropped to 80 and I was rushed to AllCure- Super Speciality Hospital (Jogeshwari). I was breathless when I was wheeled in. Immediately, I was put on a ventilator. I was admitted on February 28 at 5 am. I developed cough and fever and now they say I have COVID-induced pneumonia,” Salil added. As the actor still has a lot of congestion in his chest due to cough he was unable to talk and chatted with the said publication. He said, “It has been a scary time. I hope to be out of this in the next 7 days.”
