We have heard many cases of actresses leaving television shows, as they don't want to play a mother on screen, with the fear of getting type caste. Here's Sakshi Tanwar giving her take on it and not to our surprise, the talented actress begs to differ.

Sakshi, who started her career playing a mother, Parvati in Ekta Kapoor's Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, spoke to us candidly on this topic. In an exclusive conversation with us, Sakshi said that the actresses should not hold back from playing such roles as no one gets type caste. She is a living example of the same.

"In Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki, I have not only played a mother but also a grand mother. I did the show for almost 8 years and I don't feel have been type cast yet. In fact, when I started Kahani I was already playing a mother. I had a daughter named Shruti. I played nani, dadi and don't know what all. And after all that I did Bade Acche Lagtey Hain, which was an all new character of a single woman who was not wanting to get married. After that I did 24 in which I played chief of Anti terrorist squad. Then I did Balika Vadhu as an antagonist and then again Karle Tu Bhi Mohabbat. I am a mother again now, in Season 3. In Final call as well, I had a very different charatcer of an air control traffic chief," said Sakshi.

Sakshi further added that it all depends on what choices you make when in your career. She said, "It completely depends what kind of roles you choose to do. Of course, there were so many offers of similar nature but I didn't do them. Mujhe nahi lagta aaj ke zamane mein is baat ka farq padta hai ki aapne maa ka character play kiya hai ya nahi. Touchwood god always has better plans for me."
