Sajid Khan and Riteish Deshmukh have teamed up for a new chat show called Yaaron Ki Baraat, which will be aired on Zee TV. The filmmaker and the actor addressed the press at Reliance Studio this morning where they spoke about the show’s format and a lot more.

“We shall bring in two friends who have had their own share of misunderstandings and reconciled. Like Sajid Nadiadwala and I were at loggerheads for a couple of years because of which I didn’t do Housefull 3. I recall that Riteish would often ask to give him a call and sort things out as every friendship goes through ups and downs,” said Sajid talking about the show’s format.

The two also revealed that Sajid Nadiadwala and Sajid Khan will also appear on the show and Riteish will interview them.

Further, they addressed their stand on the latest controversy of banning Pakistani artistes from India. “The truth is that we are at a state of war with Pakistan and we are proud Indians. We need to respect our nation first. So if Pakistani actors have been asked to leave, they should abide by it,” said Sajid.

Riteish echoed the same emotion and said nation is before everything and everyone. “Like every other Indian I back Indian Army and Narendra Modiji for the surgical strike after the Uri attack. When someone provokes you, at some point or the other you ought to respond them and I feel this was the right response,” added Riteish.

He also went on to say that we all live in a democratic country and everyone had the right to have their own opinion. “If completely isolating Pakistan can pressurise their government, we shall support our country. We are the citizens of India. Also India-Pakistan is such a huge issue. Unfortunately, we end up making film industry bigger than it deserves to be,” said Riteish.

Elaborating on the show’s format, the two asserted that they will be extremely cautious about the kind of questions hurled at the guests. “Maintaining the guests’ dignity is our priority and we would not pull down or humiliate anyone. There are different ways to make people laugh,” said Sajid.

The guest list includes Karan Johar-Farah Khan, Parineeti Chopra-Sania Mirza, Vishal-Shekhar among others.
