Some old epic shows came as total life savior to millions of Indians locked in their house during this 21 day lockdown period. Such as Ramanand Sagar production's most popular show of the 1980, Ramayan, a Hindu Mythological show. One of the most popular shows marked its return on the small screen to entertain people. The telecast of this mythological show, garnered 170 million viewers already as per reports of Broadcast Audience Research Council. Despite it being a three decade old TV show.
Ramayan began its re-run on the small screen from March 28, 2020 and garnered million of viewers in just first four shows. Ramayan is currently being telecast on DD twice in a day. The broadcasters are showcasing one episode in the morning and the followed up episode in the night. i.e at 9am and 9pm. Prasar Bharati’s CEO Shashi Shekhar shared this news on his Twitter account, of being thrilled to watch this mythological show get tremendous positive response.

This is the highest ever rating a Hindi language show since 2015 mentioned BARC. BARC's chief executive Sunil Lulla also applauded this move of Prasar Bharti, terming in it as a 'Brillant' one and was left surprised how it was received positively by the viewers ever after so many years.
