Raghu Ram, who is known for his loud, abusive, and sometimes rude personality on the television screen, has popularly been the judge on a reality show. However, before that, did you know he had auditioned for Indian Idol season 1? The musical reality show was then judged by Sonu Nigam, Farah Khan and Anu Malik. Raghu, who is known to screw with contestants on his show, in turn, got rudely rejected by the judges on Indian Idol. Season one of Indian Idol aired in 2004, and it is rather amusing to now see Raghu’s voice test so many years later.
As soon as Raghu walked in, he began doing yoga and stretching out, after which Farah Khan said he only had two minutes, out of which he wasted a minute on yoga. Raghu said he needs to do it before he sings. He then begins singing Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo, after which Sonu Nigam asks him if the song he has chosen is the best one for him. Farah Khan also roasted him by saying ‘The stretching and yoga was the best part of his singing.’ Raghu was irritated and said he has a problem and asked them to not make fun of it. After Anu Malik rejects him, and says he cannot come to Mumbai, Raghu can be seen saying, “toh aap ye baat tameez se bhi bol sakte hain.”
Raghu Ram then accused the judges of being very rude while speaking with the host Mini Mathur, after he came out. Take a look at the video below:
Looks like there was a story behind this, and Raghu Ram revealed in his book that he wasn’t actually a contestant and that it was a prank that he played after it was suggested by one of his colleagues and his wife, who were the show’s moderators.
