This afternoon, Deepika Singh took to her Instagram account to PROMOTE and cheer on the second season of Diya Aur Baati Hum. Take a look:
In the video, the actress requests viewers to shower Tu
Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji with the same love they gave to the Diya Aur Baati
Hum. Needless to say, this clip sent fans into a tizzy. If it had the same
effect on you too and left you questioning if all is settled between Deepika
and Shashi-Sumeet Productions, this one’s for you.
On Friday, Deepika along with Sumeet (of Shashi-Sumeet
Productions), Sushant Singh and Amit Behl of CINTAA (Cine & TV Artists
Association) and a few members
from IFTPC (Indian Film and Television Producers Council) met for an
hour-long meeting at the CINTAA office in Andheri.
While things were headed nowhere initially, gradually a
common ground was achieved.
Says a source, “Sumeet came to a conclusion that if he
doesn’t pay up, his production house will get blacklisted and that’s the last
thing he wants. Deepika, on the other hand, realised that there is no point in
dragging the matter further.”
So did Deepika get the due amount? “No, she got a
substantial amount but had to forfeit some. This is a common scenario when two
parties fight. Eventually they come to a mutual agreement, otherwise the TV
industry will never stop fighting. It’s the sad truth.”
SpotboyE.com can also tell you that Deepika has promised
to be positive about the new season and the video is probably her way to
keeping her word.
For those who have come in late, in November last year, we broke the story of Deepika, who is expecting
her first baby this year, having not been paid her dues of Rs 1.14 crore
by makers of her show, Diya Aur Baati Hum, Shashi and Sumeet .
And then, in a sudden turnaround, Shashi & Sumeet sent a DEBIT NOTE
of Rs 16 lakh to Deepika.
Shashi-Sumeet then slapped her with a legal notice to which she responded by saying that not even her shadow
should be a part of Diya Aur Baati Hum 2 .
After that, Sumeet-Shashi suffered a setback when Star Plus demoted the
planned show from the prime time slot of 9 PM to 2o’clock in the
afternoon. Sources told us that the top brass at Star Plus
decided to move the show because they were not confident that it will get the
same TRPs as the original show.
In the light of this video, all we can say is, all’s well
that ends well.
