Pratyusha suicide case: Sessions Court rejects Rahul Raj Singh’s bail plea

The Dindoshi sessions court has rejected Rahul Raj Singh’s anticipatory bail application in the Pratyusha Banerjee suicide case. The actress’s lawyer opposed the bail plea, saying Rahul might remove her suicide note -- if any -- given a chance. He also accused Rahul of having relationships with other women even as he was committed to Pratyusha. A lady, who allegedly had a relationship with him, was produced as witness.

The Dindoshi sessions court has rejected Rahul Raj Singh’s anticipatory bail application in the Pratyusha Banerjee suicide case.

The actor-producer was charged with abetting Pratyusha’s  suicide on Tuesday (Just In: Rahul Raj Singh charged with abetment of suicide in Pratyusha case, April 5). He has been charged under IPC sections 306 (Abetment of Suicide), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (Criminal intimidation) and 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt).

Yesterday, Rahul’s lawyer Neeraj Gupta had walked out of the case stating that he was kept in the dark about certain facts (Rahul Raj Singh’s lawyer walks out of Pratyusha suicide case, April 6). Advocate Ashok Sarogi is representing him in the case now and the duo has already moved the High Court for an anticipatory bail.  

Rahul has been admitted in Sai Hospital in Kandivali since Sunday, after he complained of chest pain and breathing problems.
