On February 4, the agency at fault took to their official social media platform to release a formal apology regarding their collaboration with the Lock Upp fame actress on the awareness campaign. Expressing remorse, they stated, "Yes, we were engaged in the initiative with Poonam Pandey to raise awareness about Cervical Cancer in collaboration with Hauterfly. To commence, we sincerely apologize – especially to those who may have been affected, having experienced or witnessed the challenges associated with any form of Cancer."

They clarified that their actions were guided by a singular objective, which is to heighten awareness about Cervical Cancer. They expressed, "Our actions were propelled by a singular mission - to amplify awareness about Cervical Cancer. In 2022, India witnessed 123,907 Cervical Cancer cases and 77,348 fatalities. Following Breast Cancer, Cervical Cancer stands as the second most prevalent malignancy impacting middle-aged women in India."
On February 2, an announcement declaring Poonam Pandey's death surfaced on her official Instagram account. The statement conveyed, "This morning is a difficult one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living being that ever crossed paths with her was greeted with pure love and kindness. During this time of sorrow, we would request privacy as we fondly remember all that we shared." The following day, the actress revealed she was alive, clarifying that her earlier actions were intended to raise awareness about cervical cancer.
