Actress and internet sensation Poonam Pandey has been facing the wrath of the netizens and her industry friends for her fake death stint. It was earlier in February when she faked her death to raise awareness about cervical cancer. She received a lot of backlash from everyone after she released a video stating that she was happy with the stint as it started conversations around the disease. Now the actress has found herself in legal trouble as a Rs 100 crore defamation case was filed against her for the publicity stunt.
According to a report by the Free Press Journal, An FIR has been lodged against Poonam and her husband Sam Bombay with the Kanpur Police Commission. Filed by Faizan Ansari, the FIR mentions that a defamation case has been filed against the couple. As per the media report, he has requested to issue an arrest warrant against the couple for Poonam’s publicity stunt. He has requested that the couple should be presented in the Kanpur Court.

For those who don't know, apart from announcing her passing through an Instagram post, her manager also confirmed the news during a conversation with media publications. During a conversation with News18, Poonam Pandey’s manager said, “Poonam Pandey was not only a luminary in the film industry, but she was also a beacon of strength and resilience. Her unwavering spirit amidst her health struggles was truly remarkable.”
