Actor Pearl V Puri’s bail plea in the rape case will be heard on Friday by the sessions judge in Vasai court. In a significant development, according to a report, Aditi Kadam, the sessions judge will hear the bail plea of the television actor. Pearl V Puri was remanded to 14-days of judicial custody by Vasai court on Saturday. The actor was arrested on Friday night by Vasai’s Waliv police for allegedly raping a five-year-old at a film set in Vasai, on June 11.
According to a report in the Hindustan Times, additional public prosecutor Jaiprakash Patil confirmed the details about the bail plea on Monday. The report mentioned that he revealed the accused had applied for bail on Saturday. He mentioned that the bail plea came up before the court on Monday. As per the report, the defence counsel for Puri said before the court that the minor did not mention the sexual assault but the police have a medical report of the victim and is on record.
For the unversed, Sanjaykumar Patil, deputy commissioner of police, zone 2, Mira Bhayander Vasai Virar (MBVV) Commmissionerate had said that the incident allegedly took place on a film set in Naigaon in October 2019. As per the officials, the complaint was registered by the victim’s father in Versova Police station.
Meanwhile, it was only yesterday that the identity of the victim’s parents was leaked into the public domain. Divya Khosla Kumar had made a post and opened up on the issue. Later, the victim’s mother made a post on her Instagram. She broke her silence and expressed her thoughts. The victim’s mother’s friend also came out in her friend and Pearl V Puri’s support. So far, Ekta Kapoor, Anita Hassanandani, Karishma Tanna and others have extended support to Pearl V Puri.
