If you’re an ardent follower of SONY SAB TV’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and Disha Vakani aka Daya Ben happens to be your favourite character in the show, then this piece of news will surely leave you disappointed. The actress, who went on a maternity leave in October 2017 is not doing a comeback to the famous comedy show.
Disha, who delivered a baby girl on November 30, 2017 was expected to join the show after a few months. But in March 2018, the actress told makers that she is yet not ready to get back to work as she wants to concentrate on bringing up her child. At that time, the makers had shot a few scenes at Disha’s house, as per her convenience, and used those shots over a period of time as filler shots. The talks were still on between Disha and makers about her comeback. In Sep 2018, we had told you that she might comeback during Navratri, however, that did not materialise either, as Disha couldn’t make up her mind.
Since then, fans have been waiting endlessly to see Daya ben make a comeback. But let us tell you it’s not going to happen. However, with the way things have panned out between Disha and makers of the show, in the past, you never know if she makes a comeback later sometime. But as things stand today, Daya ben is out of the scene.
We hear that the actress had laid some conditions with her timings and availability along with monetary concerns to makers, who in return said that they would love to have her back, but cannot comply with her conditions. Discussions went on and on for months, but now, the final outcome is that both parties have mutually decided to end their association.
“It’s been almost a year Disha has been missing from the show. However, it hasn't affected the TRP as such and so, the makers are also ok with the idea of not having her on the show.” our well-placed source said.
We also contacted co-star, Asit Modi, who is the producer of the show, to know the status. He seemed reluctant to comment and said, "I don't want to make any comment on this matter anymore". We also tried reaching out to Disha Vakani but she remained unavailable for comment. Time to bid goodbye to Daya ben or will there be a twist in the tale?
