TV heartthrob Shaheer Sheikh got married to Ruchikaa Kapoor a few weeks ago, and the lovebirds had a court marriage owing to the Coronavirus pandemic. Their wedding was attended by only about 10 people, and it was an intimate affair. Pictures and videos from their wedding went viral on social media, and now, in an exclusive conversation with SpotboyE, Shaheer Sheikh revealed that while he always wanted his marriage to be simple, their parents were against it.
Shaheer said that he doesn’t even like to celebrate his birthday, and always wanted a simple marriage. However, Shaheer and Ruchikaa’s parents’ were not up for a simple wedding, which is why they have planned to celebrate in June. “I don't even like to celebrate my birthday, so you can imagine. I always wanted my marriage to be as simple as possible. Ruchikaa and my family were not up for a simple one and that's why we are planning something in June. Because of the pandemic, we also got an opportunity to keep it low key and have it like an intimate affair,” said Shaheer.
Shaheer said that everyone was upset that there was no celebration as such, which is why he and Ruchikaa decided they would have a function in June 2021.
However, Shaheer also added that his family really wanted him to get married since a very long time, and so they did not object to the decision to have a court marriage first. “My mom was behind my life, so unhone kaha, ‘theek hai, tu kar raha hai na karle,’”said Shaheer.
