Being a celebrity is kind of tough, as you're 24x7  under the public scanner. Right from a star's professional life to his/her personal and social media happenings are observed by fans. Well, that, in a way, also becomes the reason and source of criticism, trolls or mockery some times. Take, for instance, actor Indraneil Sengupta, whose recent Instagram post on his wife Barkha Sengupta is hitting the headlines for all the wrong reasons. As per some netizens, Indraneil is 'objectifying women' through his post, while trying to sound romantic for wifey Barkha. However, the actor was quick to defend himself.

It all happened after the 1920 actor shared a silhouette kind of a picture of his wife Barkha standing at the balcony with her back facing towards the camera. Barkha was wearing a black dress. It was, however, his caption that caught everyone's attention. Indraneil wrote, "Neighbours’ envy, owner’s pride." The fact that Indraneil called his wife 'owner's pride' didn't go down well with a bunch of his followers and they slammed him for allegedly objectifying women. An unhappy female user wrote, "Was looking for the leash on her neck from the owner...Intellectual captions are rare, definitely onida had it... sadly not all does!"

Reacting to the same, Indraneil defended himself saying that it was in all in fun. His reply read, "hahaha I knew the ‘owner’ would draw some flak, but it’s just a fun use of the popular line."

Take a look:

The woman in question, however, admitted to not finding any humour in his caption. She further wrote, "I definitely tried to find the fun but maybe I lack a good sense of humour. Or maybe in my own way I am trying to resent the idea of women being as addressed as an object that needs ownership. Your words matter more than my words, I would request you to use them wisely since we (women) have a different battle to fight everyday, and sometimes a little hand of help matters more #thankyou."
