Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput died due to suicide after he hung himself at his Mumbai residence. The tragic suicide of the late actor at the age of 34 has sent shock waves across the country. As it was reported that SSR suffered depression, it has also brought attention to issues related to mental health and how it is necessary to seek help at the right time. With everyone trying to create awareness on social media, Ishqbaaaz actor Nakuul Mehta talks on depression.

Taking to his Instagram stories, actor Nakuul Mehta shared an inspiring story of a suicide survivor and reveals how listening is a gift one can give someone who is suffering from depression. He captioned his post, “Are we listening?” Nakuul went on to share the inspiring story by Holocaust survivor, Viktor Frankl. The holocaust survivor who was also a renowned Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist revealed how he once managed to save a woman trying to die by suicide. Mehta continued to share how the woman called the psychiatrist in the middle of the night to inform him about her decision to take her life.

Nakuul Mehta continued to share how Viktor then gave the woman reasons after reasons to not take such a drastic step. While Frankl managed to save the woman, the very next day, Nakuul shared how the psychiatrist asked her which reason made her change her decision. The woman then revealed that Frankl’s willingness to listen to her in the middle of the night made her change her mind. Sharing what Frankl revealed, Nakuul wrote, “A world in which there was someone ready to listen to another’s pain seemed to her a world in which it was worthwhile to live.”


As Nakuul Mehta shared the inspiring story with all his fans out there, the actor continued to mention how most of the times, it is not a brilliant argument that makes the difference, but the small act of listening is the greatest gift one can give to a person.
