Nach Baliye 8 began with the biggest dhoom it has ever made in its history. The opening sequence was simply breathtaking - a perfect fusion of the Nach Baliye theme song and quite a few popular Bollywood numbers playing in a mashup. The Celebrity jodis danced their hearts out and introduced themselves to the aam janta watching the show on their television sets.

While the opening show was very entertaining, my favourite acts were- Divyanka Tripathi-Vivek Dahiya and Dipika Kakar-Shoaib Ibrahim's. Divyanka-Vivek killed it with their real life chemistry and Dipika- Shoaib grooved like no one is watching. These two couples rocked the Nach stage. However, the other jodis too did a great job. Here's how the show unfolded:

Host Karan Tacker walked in and introduced all the three judges (Sonakshi Sinha, Terrence Lewis, Mohit Suri), who shared what they are expecting from the show in this season.

Interestingly, there were also a couple of videos shown to the judges and the contestants. They were by none other than Jacqueline Fernandez and Karan Johar.

The first performance was by TV world's most adored couple- Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya. They narrated their love story and later performed to Gerua from Dilwale (2015). Vivek also proposed to Divyanaka on the stage by slipping in a ring in her hand. The duos moves were very impressive and got the audience grooving. Both looked lost in love while performing

Next up were Bharti Singh and her boyfriend Haarsh Limbachaiyaa. Bharti begins the performance as her usual comic self, but later on rocked the stage along with Harsh on Tamma Tamma Again from Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017). Highlight of their performance- Bharti romantically confesses that she is set to tie the knot soon.

Up next were Sanam Johar and Abigail Pandey who performed to The Humma Humma song from Ok Jaanu (2017). The performance was fiery in all aspects.

Aashka Goradia and Brent Goble performed on Bloody Hell from Rangoon (2017), and were pretty rocking. The interesting part for the audience was when Aashka reveals that Brent left everything in his hometown and moved in to be with her for life - that was quite an emotional moment there!

Dipika Kakar and Shoaib Ibrahim managed to get a standing ovation from the crowd, which none of the others were able to get till now. Dipika even narrated a romantic poem for Shoaib. It was one of the most romantic moments of the whole episode.

For all those who love the song Jhingat from the Marathi movie Sairat (2016), Siddhartha and Trupti Jadhav had a surprise for all of you. Their fantastic performance hadn't been predicted by the audiences, but they made sure that they gave in their best. It was the most fun-filled performance of the evening.

No dance show can work without having a ravishing dance number on a Sunny Leone song. Monalisa and Vikrant Singh gave the audiences just that with a fabulous performance on Laila Main Laila from Raees (2017). Sonakshi walked in later onto the stage and joined Monalisa. The duo danced on the popular Bhojpuri song Lagawelu Jab Lipistik.

Sanaya Irani and Mohit Sehgal danced to the title track of Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017). Their act was very relatable and that's why not just the audience, even the judges gave them a lion share of the praises.

Utkarsha and Manoj Verma danced like the sweetest and cutest love birds. Their dance performance was dripping with romance, although the judges did feel that they have a lot more potential and can go ahead and beat the others.

Pritam and Amanjjot Singh were the last ones to perform. They danced their hearts out. As the show was coming to a close, their kids joined them on the stage. The whole family was looking so adorable on stage.

The show opened with much dhamaal, and it lived up to all the expectations. The jodis look to be promising, and the first episode definitely has manged to bring in a lot of varied acts.

Hopefully the next one will be just as entertaining.
