Indian Idol is currently on its 12th season, and the singing reality show has had massive popularity right from its first season. Indian Idol 1 aired in 2004, and it was hosted by Aman Verma and Mini Mathur. Mini Mathur hosted 6 seasons of Indian Idol. Currently, Indian Idol 12 is being hosted by Aditya Narayan. Now, Mini Mathur recently held an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on Instagram, and she replied to a fan who asked her whether she would return to host Indian Idol again.
Mini Mathur expressed that she wouldn’t be interested in hosting Indian Idol again. “Given a chance, would you host Indian Idol now?” asked the fan. Mini replied, “Gave birth to it, turned it into an adult and let it fly. Can’t be handling a toddler again.” Her time on Indian Idol has remained quite special for her, and last year, Mini Mathur had shared a post on Instagram as she took a trip down memory lane. She had posted a few snaps from her time hosting Indian Idol, and wrote how emotionally involved she was with the show.
“I was totally up to host a new international format but completely unprepared for being so emotionally involved with the show. Because it was a first at so many levels- pure, organic, truthful, naked. There was no pretension, no gimmicks or manipulation. It was also the first time viewers were involved in voting for the winner,” she had written.
Mini Mathur also gave a shoutout to her co-host from season 3, Hussain Kuwajerwala, and to the judges Farah Khan, Sonu Nigam, Alisha Chinai, Javed Akhtar, Udit Narayan, Anu Malik.
