In a tragic series of events, Telugu television actor Chandu died by suicide, just five days after the tragic car accident that claimed the life of his "Trinayani" co-star Pavithra Jayaram in Hyderabad. According to media reports, Chandu was found dead at his residence in Manikonda, leaving the television industry and his fans in shock.
Reports indicate that Chandu had been deeply affected and distressed following Pavithra's untimely death. The Times of India reported that Chandu's family members discovered his body after breaking down his room door when he failed to respond to their repeated phone calls. A suicide note was also found at the scene, and the Narsingi police have registered a case under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.
Multiple media sources revealed that Chandu and Pavithra were romantically involved. Both actors were previously married and each had two children, but they had separated from their respective spouses. They were reportedly planning to make their relationship official soon, with intentions to take their relationship to the next level after Pavithra’s return from her trip. However, Pavithra tragically passed away in a road accident on May 12 near Mahabubnagar in Andhra Pradesh. Her car lost control, hit a divider, and was subsequently struck by a bus, leading to her instantaneous death due to severe injuries.
There have also been unverified claims suggesting that Chandu and Pavithra were already married, although no official confirmation of their relationship status has been made. Pavithra portrayed the character of Thilottama in the Telugu show "Trinayani," while Chandu played her on-screen husband, Vishal. Their off-screen relationship, coupled with their on-screen chemistry, had endeared them to many fans, making their deaths even more poignant for the audience. The loss of these two beloved actors in such a short span has cast a pall over the Telugu television industry, leaving fans and colleagues mourning their sudden and tragic departures.
