One of India’s most watched cooking-based reality shows MasterChef India’s season 7 is all set to announce their winner this week. It has been a thrilling journey not only for the contestants but also for the audience. After weeks of feeling disappointed over the judges favouring certain home cooks over the deserving one, they will finally come to know who will take home the Golden Chef’s Jacket and Trophy. In one of the recent episodes, Gurkirat Singh Grover And Kamaldeep Kaur were eliminated leaving the fans shocked.
Many had mixed reactions on their elimination. It all happened, when on Tuesday’s episode, guest Chef Saransh Goila gave the contestants a challenge to make his famous dish ‘Safarnama’ that requires 100 steps. Talking about the dish, it consisted of components from across the country and uses multiple techniques. While Kamaldeep’s bread remained uncooked, Gurkirat couldn’t deal with the strenuous task, which led them to get evicted from the show. ALSO READ: OMG! Chef Vikas Khanna, went on to pen a heartfelt note for the two, wishing them luck in their future projects. Disappointed fans took to the comments section of his post to rant about how unfairly they have treated most of the contestants this season. Many even bashed the judges Ranveer Brar, Garima Arora and Vikas Khanna for their unfair treatment towards Aruna Vijay. One wrote, “So so so unfair!! This elimination of KDK was such a let down. Do you really kick out a top chef in your restaurant if they mess up one dish? It would have been much better to award points to all finalists for the dishes they cook in finale week and give the trophy to the highest scorer. So conveniently consistency was overlooked based on 1 dish, which by the looks like she did cook well based on judge’s comments. This sucks big time, feel like we wasted months on this show!! #unfair.”
For the unversed, the show has been facing flak from the audience ever since they allowed Aruna to use paneer as a substitute in a fish-based dish just because she was vegetarian.
