Well, it seems like the world is moving on. While fans await to know the truth behind Tunisha Sharma’s suicide case, the makers of the show Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul have found their new Mariam. Television actress Manul Chudasama has been cast as the new female lead of the show. For the unversed, earlier Sheezan Khan, who is still in judicial custody, was replaced by Abhishek Nigam as the male lead.
Chudasma has done about four to five shows in her career, the last one being Brij Ke Gopal on Dangal TV. During an interview with ETimes, she opened up about ‘replacing’ the late actress, who was found hanging in the bathroom of Sheezan’s make-up room. It was earlier said by makers that they would end the character of Mariam and bring in a female lead, with a new character arc and perspective.
Talking to the entertainment publication she shared that she is not nervous about doing the show. She is excited to showcase her acting talent to the world yet again. If reports are to be believed, Manul has started working on the show, on a makeshift set after the old one was taken over by the police as it was a crime scene.
Quoted by India Today, she said, “'Replacing' wouldn't be the right word. I am not replacing Tunisha but coming up with a fresh perspective on the character. I can never take Tunisha's place, she did an amazing job in the show and I just hope that people love the character and shower us with the same love that they did before.”
For the unaware, the 20-year-old television actress was found hanging in the bathroom of her ex-boyfriend and co-star’s make-up room on the sets of her serial ‘Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul’. Talking about ex-boyfriend Sheezan, he has been arrested under section 306 of IPC for abetment of suicide.
