Many TV shows have failed to connect with the audience in recent years. And it has resulted in several of them going off air in a couple of months. The latest one to get added in the list is Zee TV's Aghori starring Gaurav Chopra, Parag Tyagi and Simran Kaur in lead roles.
The show that kick-started in June this year is already coming to a close on September 28. The promos grabbed a lot of attention all thanks to the stellar star-cast, supernatural elements and visual appeal. However, it failed to connect with the audience and didn’t rank much on the TRP chart. The makers even attempted to revive the interest of the viewers by introducing new elements but that didn’t help either. As a result, the makers (Essel Vision) have decided to end the show.
We spoke to Gaurav Chopra and he said, "It's been very difficult, very challenging but an extremely fun ride. I am glad that I have played a character which was not easy to do. There was not a single aspect of being an actor which was not required. You got to have physicality, personality, voice, comic timing, action; right from being on a harness to underwater, everything I attempted. At my stage, you want to reinvent and rediscover yourself which I did with this show. I am very glad that the journey was challenging and thoroughly satisfying because of the quality. The show is loved and watched on ZEE5. We keep getting good response from our fans too. It's ending for now, but we may come back with a sequel soon".
Aghori is wrapping up in three months of time and replacing the slot will be Maniesh Paul's filmy quiz show 'Movie-Masti With Maniesh Paul'. The series which will begin from October 5 is a reality show that will feature interesting quizzes, based on the film industry.
