The battle between BJP candidate and actor-turned politician, Smriti Irani and Congress’ Rahul Gandhi at Amethi is going neck and neck. The last update which we gave you had Smriti in lead with 1300 votes. However, now the lead has become of 7000 votes, as reported by The Economic Times. Interestingly, the battle between Irani and Gandhi has been a see saw past few hours with the lead changing around 6 times. Congress has never lost from Amethi in the last 3 decades except in 1998. So, if Smriti wins, she will be creating history.

Now, when Smriti is raging, how can someone who gave her a break and made her a household name with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, not root for her? Well, Ekta Kapoor seems to be extremely excited about the results. The TV Czarina shared a picture on Instagram where we can see her li’l son, Ravie watching television, playing Election results. She captioned the picture as, “All eyes on #amethi we r rooting for our aunt.”

Talking a bit more about Rahul and Smriti’s face-off, in 2014, the actor-turned politician had lost out to the Congress president by 1 lakh votes. But this time, her lead seems to be growing stronger, we’re sure Smriti must be dancing in the aisles. Her confidence has been validated. More reason for her to celebrate, her party BJP seems to be headed for a landslide victory as NDA is currently leading in 310 seats across the country at this moment. For those who thought that the Exit Polls will be wrong, this one is for you. Many people made a joke of Smriti's confidence and the result in her favour will be more significant, if you consider that BJP had lost a lot of Hindi heartland in the 2018 Assembly Elections.
