Like we all are well aware, the government has been taking drastic measures to ensure the safety of everyone and curb the rapid spread of the Novel Coronavirus. In the meantime, the state of Maharashtra, particularly, the city of Mumbai is among the worse-affected by the virus. As the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is around the corner, the organisers of Lalbaugcha Raja recently announced that the big event that sees a vast number of devotees arriving to seek blessing stands cancelled this year to ensure the safety of people and maintain social distancing. Reacting to the announcement, TV actors Karan Wahi, Bigg Boss 13’s Dalljiet Kaur and Vatsal Seth laud the decision.
As many television and Bollywood celebrities visit Lalbaugcha Raja to seek the blessings of Lord Ganesha, speaking with ETimes TV actor Karan Wahi revealed that he thinks saving lives and keeping everyone safe is of the highest priority right now and mentioned that he’s glad that the decision comes from the biggest Ganesh Chaturthi mandal in the city. Karan said, “I think saving lives and keeping people safe is the highest priority and I am glad it’s come from the biggest Ganesh Chaturthi mandal in the city. I hope people understand the need of the hour and act wisely like they have."
Apart from Karan Wahi, Bigg Boss 13's Dalljiet Kaur thinks that the decision taken by the committee is a ‘lovely’ one and revealed she is extremely happy and proud. The actress added, "Lal Baughcha raja has always given so many blessings over the years and many devotees believe he has showered happiness for years ...” Moving on, the Bigg Boss 13 contestant continued, “When king says ... the kingdom will follow,” and hopes that everyone will follow the king as an example.
Vatsal Sheth of Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke also hailed the decision of the organisers and said, "It’s a great decision... health and safety of the devotees comes first... I am sure even Bappa would want that." Calling the event cancellation a ‘great decision, Vatsal mentioned how health and safety of the devotees comes first.
