Kasam girl Kratika Sengar is inundated with calls after our story on her refusal to do a heavy-duty lovemaking scene in Ekta Kapoor's show (TV Actress Kratika Sengar Refused To Have SEX On Her Wedding Night, Jan 7). Excerpts from our exclusive chat with her, this afternoon:

On Saturday
, we ran a story that you didn't shoot a certain scene with your co-star Ssharad Malhotra in Kasam...
That's right. It was a consummation scene and I didn't shoot it.

Why?
I was uncomfortable doing it. The scene was very intimate.

A body double was summoned?
Yes, and I am thankful to Ekta Kapoor for understanding it from my perspective.

Did you not shoot the scene because your husband Nikitin Dheer doesn't like you getting intimate with co-stars on screen?
Nikitin is not a possessive husband. Aisa kuch bhi nahin hai.

Then why didn't you shoot?
It was my call. I have always been like that. I never shot intimate scenes even for my earlier shows like Punar Vivah. The audiences know the kind of work I do, and trust me they pretty well know about it.

P.S: The consummation scene between Kratika Sengar and Ssharad Malhotra will be aired sometime this week. The Balaji crew took only close-ups of Kratika, while the body-double shot for back shots. There was no coercion, no cajoling.
