Kiara Advani is undeniably one of the most prominent and sought-after actresses in Bollywood today. Known for her impeccable fashion sense, impressive acting skills, and stunning looks, Kiara has carved a niche for herself in the industry. She is married to her longtime boyfriend, Sidharth Malhotra, and together they make a much-admired couple. Back in 2021, the duo appeared on the singing reality show, Indian Idol 12, to promote their film, Shershah. During their stint on the show, Kiara, who admits she is an average singer, sang a few lines of the song "Raatan Lambiyaan." Unfortunately, her performance led to her being trolled online.
Recently, Kiara marked a significant milestone, completing ten years in Bollywood. To celebrate this achievement, she hosted a meet-and-greet session for her fans. She looked stunning in a white pantsuit with a halterneck and cutout detailing near the waist. During this interaction, one of her fans asked for advice on starting a singing career. Kiara took this opportunity to recall her experience on Indian Idol 12. She candidly shared how she was massively trolled for her performance, admitting that it was not her best.
"Guys, I went to the Indian Idol Finale... Yes, it was so bad, I would never..." she began, only to be interrupted by a fan who insisted, "No, it was not bad, it was pretty." Grateful for the support, Kiara thanked the fans and acknowledged their love for her. She then shared her husband Sidharth's reaction to her performance. Sidharth praised her courage for performing on such a grand stage, despite her voice going off-tune. Kiara humorously recounted, "Thanks, you all are real fans because after the song, Sidharth told me, 'You have guts. Grand Finale me tumne koshish kiya.' I said, 'Mujhe pata nahi tha ki suddenly mera sur off ho jayega.' So I understand."
In her typically sweet and encouraging manner, Kiara advised the aspiring singer not to be discouraged by her experience. She emphasized the importance of doing things from the heart and staying true to oneself. She reassured her fan, saying, "But then the thing is to do it from your heart and that's what matters, and you're anyway a good singer. I am not trying to discourage you, I just wanted to share the experience with you guys."
The video of this interaction quickly went viral, with netizens praising Kiara for her grace and humility in addressing the trolling. One user commented, "Well handled - acknowledgement, humour, acceptance, confidence, moving on." Another added, "I love when celebs don’t take themselves too seriously it’s very refreshing. She also seems so sweet to her fans."
Kiara's ability to laugh at herself and share her vulnerabilities openly with her fans has only endeared her more to the public. Her handling of the situation with humour and confidence serves as an example of how celebrities can navigate the challenges of public scrutiny with grace and poise.
