He highlighted her remarkable journey, detailing how she fled the Japanese occupation of Burma during World War II in 1943 and sought refuge in India. Known for her exceptional dancing skills and iconic character roles, Helen was born in Rangoon, Burma (now Myanmar). In a bid to escape the tumultuous situation, her family embarked on a trek to Dibrugarh, Assam, marking a poignant chapter in her life's journey. Subsequently, Helen found her breakthrough opportunity at the age of 19 in 1958. Her standout performance came with the song 'Mera Naam Chin Chin Chu' in the film 'Howrah Bridge,' alongside the iconic actor Shammi Kapoor. This paved the way for numerous chart-topping dance numbers, including 'Suku Suku' in 'Junglee,' 'Yamma Yamma' in 'China Town,' and 'O Haseena Zulfonwali' in 'Teesri Manzil,' establishing her as a dance sensation in Bollywood. To reach India, they undertook a challenging journey, trekking through vast expanses of wilderness, crossing rivers, navigating mountains, and forests in 1943, evading the Japanese occupation of Burma.' "Despite the hardships, she emerged as a renowned actress in our film industry. Her mesmerizing dance performances never failed to captivate the audience," shared the Piku actor.
