Actor Karan Wahi has once again being subjected to trolls and bashing from social media users. It so happened, with the spike in Coronavirus cases across the country, many Naga Babas converged at Har ki Pauri in Haridwar for a holy dip in the river Ganga during the Shahi Snan of the Kumbh Mela this week which also led to a rise in COVID-19 cases across Haridwar. Reacting on the same, Karan shared a post on his Instagram stories saying, ‘Isn’t there a Work From Home culture for Naga Babas? Like get water from Ganga and take a shower at home #justcurious #kumbhmela.’
Thinking that Karan tried to hurt Hindu sentiments, netizens fumed over his comment and immediately asked to take down his ‘propaganda story’. Unfazed about the same, he shared all the DMs on his stories, informing how people are using cuss words and abusing him for sharing the same. Well, then he shared another post saying how he is receiving death threats and abuse from them and how people of India are turning a blind eye towards the COVID scare. He said, “So I have received messages, abusive content, even death threats already. Wow, people of India, if being a Hindu is to turn a blind eye on COVID protocols not being followed then a lot of you first need to read what being a Hindu is.”
As we said, this is not the first time, Karan Wahi faced the wrath of digital users over his controversial comment but earlier, he found himself at the receiving end of criticism when he urged people not to burst crackers during Diwali. Given that pollution levels are worst in certain states of the country and owing to the ongoing pandemic, he told everyone to refrain from indulging in so. However, he was in the pool of trolls when they brutally slammed him for his views.
