Over the past few months, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been making the headlines for all the wrong reasons. Actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who essayed the role of Roshan Singh Sodhi for over 14 years, called out the makers of the show for their toxicity and accused producer Asit Kumarr Modi of sexual harassment. In her multiple interviews, she has highlighted the unfair treatment towards the female and child actors, who are a part of the show.
Adding on the long list of her shocking revelations, Jennifer stated that as the world was busy taking precautions against COVID-19, there were no preventative measures for the actors on the set. Apart from the male leads who were given luxurious vanity v, theirs had cockroaches. She told the media publication, “The condition was pathetic. The vanity vans given to us had cockroaches, while the ones with male leads on the show were luxurious. We used to complain about it, but kaun sunta? Kisi ko fark nahi padta tha. In fact, we used to be told that we are fillers and the production is doing a favour by giving us rooms with air conditioners.”
For the unversed, in June, Jennifer had filed a complaint against Modi, operation head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj with the Mumbai Police accusing them of sexual and mental harassment. While there has been no update on the case, actress Priya Ahuja Rajda and Monika Bhadoriya along with former director of the show Malav Rajda came out to support her.
