After the Maharashtra government imposed a lockdown in the state, many TV and film shootings also came to a standstill. While some were still following the necessary protocols, some headed to different locations out of Maharashtra to complete the shoot of their shows. One of them is the singing reality show, Indian Idol 12 that headed to Daman to shoot the episodes. Now, the latest report suggests that the team has returned to Mumbai after wrapping up some episodes of the show in Daman. Reportedly, the team will resume shooting in the city once the lockdown rules get a bit relaxed.
In an interview with ETimes, Aditya Narayan revealed the makers used to shoot eight episodes in four days; hence they have enough content for the entire month. He feels it is safer to keep the team in one place together and complete the shoot. “We are now waiting for what Uddhav Thackerayji has to say about opening up the city. But I would say it is better to be in Mumbai as Covid is a very slimy character it is one of those villains who looks like a sidekick but turns out to be a megalomaniac and evil character. Imagine recommendations of wearing a mask at home, "he said.
Meanwhile, in an interview with the same portal, Aditya Narayan defended Indian Idol 12 after Indian Amit Kumar’s controversial statement regarding the show. The host Aditya Narayan addressed Amit Kumar's statement and said, “Kishore Kumar episode rated very well. And mind you we are not competing with Kishore Kumar. We are celebrating Kishore Kumar. Haven't you seen at music lovers' after party the kind of people singing Kishore Kumar songs? So, that's it.”
In one of the episodes, Narayan asked guest Roop Kumar Rathod, Kumar Sanu and Anuradha Padwal if they are genuinely praising the contestants or were they asked to do so. To which, Aditya’s father and veteran singer Udit Narayan said that ‘he is not mature yet. He is childish and emotional.’
