Indian Idol 12 is inching closer to its finale, with the season finally getting its 6 top finalists. Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal, Mohd Danish, Shanmukhapriya, Sayli Kamble and Nihal Tauro who will compete to win the trophy are not leaving any stone unturned in their performances. This weekend saw Kumar Sanu and Kavita Krishnamurthy gracing the show, contestants crooning to their numbers, leaving them mesmerized. As the show went on, there was one moment when Kavita Krishnamurthy was moved to tears.

The senior singer was surprised with a heartfelt message from one of her best friends, Hema Malini on the occasion of friendship. In the audio clip played on the show, the Dreamgirl of Bollywood talked about their bonding since they were toddlers. She went on to reveal how their mothers aimed to make their artists. And luckily while Hema became a successful actress, Kavita was recognized for her singing skills. The Sholay actress also recalled the event when they worked together and knew the singer by the name, Papa.

Following the audio clip, the audiovisual played on the show, has Kavita and Hema’s old photographs which got the singer emotional. Kavita shared that the actress played a huge part in her singing career, further calling her an angel (farishta).
