The singing reality TV show Indian Idol 12 has a massive fan base and audience who love to watch talented singers perform on the show. The show was recently under the scanner when singer Amit Kumar criticised the contestants’ performances. In an interview now, judge Manoj Muntashir opened up about Indian Idol 12 contestants Shanmukha Priya and Mohammad Danish’s performance. He spoke about the public outcry on Shanmukha Priya’s stereotype yodeling and Danish’s over-reacting to every song and reacted on the same.
Speaking with ETimes, when Manoj Muntashir was asked to share his thoughts on the public outcry on Shanmukha’s stereotype yodeling and Danish’s over-reacting, the judge said Shanmukha is his favourite. He said, “Shanmukha is my favourite. I first heard her when she sang 'Jai Ho'. She brings a certain amount of salt and pepper in every song in her individual style. Shouldn't we welcome that style?” He added, “But every song can't have so much yodeling, especially the songs which have emotion of pain...” Muntashir continued, “You are right. She is singing for the public. I will tell her to look into what is being said about her. She must pay to heed to the feedback.”
When asked if judges Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani, and Himesh Reshammiya shouldn’t have said something to Shanmukha, Muntashir reacted. He said, “They must have, but if they haven't till now, they should.” After being questioned about Mohammad Danish’s performance, judge Manoj Muntashir called the contestant a “terrific singer”. Talking on the same, he said, “Danish is a terrific singer but the same applies for him too.”
Meanwhile, the upcoming episode of Indian Idol 12 will see Manoj Muntashir and Anu Malik making an appearance. Muntashir also hinted at him pointing out the necessary flaws in the contestants’ performance during his appearance.
