One of the most popular TV singing reality shows, Indian Idol 12 is all set to come to an end. While the makers will be unveiling the winner on August 15, 2021, competing in the race are Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal, Mohd Danish, Shanmukhapriya, Nihal Turao and Sayli Kamble. With judges' inputs, praises from the audience and also, sometimes trolls, these top six contestants have come a long way. Along with an exciting journey of these six contestants, this season saw six judges mentoring them.
The show started in November 2020, with Neha Kakkar, Vishal Dadlani and Himesh Reshammiya as the judges and mentors to the contestants. However, due to the COVID-19 lockdown and shift in the shooting location saw makers getting music composer Anu Malik and lyricist Manoj Muntashir on board. Anu Malik and Manoj Muntashir replaced Neha Kakkar and Vishal Dadlani on the show - followed by singer Sonu Kakkar joining as one of the judges after the exit of Manoj Muntashir on the panel. As the show inches closer towards the finale, the judges' panel has Himesh Reshammiya, Anu Malik and Sonu Kakkar cheering the contestants.
The reason behind Neha and Vishal stepping down from the panel was the change in the shooting location. As Maharashtra observed lockdown for almost two-three months in 2021, the shooting location was shifted to Daman, and former judges Neha and Vishal could not make it for it. They did not return to the show as the show got an extension, and they got busy with their other projects.
