Singing reality show Indian Idol 12 is surrounded with controversy after Kishore Kumar special episode. The show was slammed by the audience, as contestants could not do justice to the legendary singer’s songs, followed by the guest Kishore Kumar’s son Amit Kumar revealing that he was asked to praise the contestants. Senior singer Anuradha Paudwal who graced the romance special episode reacted to controversy and gave out her take on the contestants seen on the show.
Unlike Kishore Kumar’s statement she found the contestants talented and expressed being amazed if the audience were questioning their singing ability. She told Aaj Tak, "I found the contestants very talented and there was nothing controversial about it. If people are questioning their (contestants') talent, I am surprised.” She further added that she has no idea about Amit Kumar’s controversy, and contestants performed really well when she had graced the show. She mentioned she was taken by surprise with their immense talent.
She added, “I have no idea about the controversy around Amit ji but when I went, the kids sang really well. I was surprised watching their performance.”
Amit Kumar’s statement that caused a stir and got the show receiving a lot of flak read, “I did what I was told. I was told sabko praise karna hai. I was told jo jaisa bhi gaaye usko uplift karna hai (I was told to praise everyone and to uplift everyone, no matter how they sang) because it's a tribute to Kishore da. I thought it will be a homage to my father. But once there, I just followed what I was asked to do. I had told them to give me portions of the script in advance, but nothing of that sort happened.” ALSO READ:
