The Best 13 contestants of India’s Best Dancer season three are all set to be put through a test in the upcoming weekend’s episode. The contestants will be seen paying a tribute to Bollywood in the ‘Best Ka Pehla Test’ segment. They will perform on the iconic Bollywood songs, adding a filmy twist to their acts. The judges too will be seen participating in the segment as they will dress up as iconic characters from blockbuster movies. 

One performance that will leave everyone nostalgic and spell bound will be contestant Anjali Mamgai and her choreographer Aryan. The duo will be leaving everyone charmed with their performance on the iconic yesteryears song ‘Aplam Chaplam’ from the film Azaad (1955). Dressed as Nargis and Raj Kapoor, they will pay their tribute to the golden age of Indian cinema with their dance. Heaping praises on their performance, judge Sonali Bendre will heap praises on Anjali for having an ‘old world charm’ about her. Quoted by Telly Chakkar, Bendre says, “This was a very good act. Anjali, you have an old-world charm - you can be a black and white heroine. You have an old-world charm in your expressions and your dance is modern. This combination is very interesting! The episode will be special, as Anjali’s mother and sisters too will join her on the stage. The proud mother will recall how after being thrown out of the house, when Anjali was 13, the contestant took it upon herself to become the bread winner of her family. Anjali’s mother will go on to feed her homemade besan laddoo and bless her for being successful on the show. 

For the unversed, the current season sees Geeta Kapur, Terence Lewis and Sonali Bendre as the judges. Hosted by Jay Bhanushali, the show airs on Sony Entertainment Television.
