The world is still reeling under the scourge of Covid-19 pandemic. And until the entire humanity achieves its freedom from the virus, can we be totally free? Actors Simran Budharup, Annkit Bhatia, Priya Banerjee, Akanksha Puri and Abhinandan share their plans as to what they will do if and when we get freedom from Covid-19.
Simran Budharup: In these crucial times, freedom for me is that I am able to go to work and I am able to earn my living. And again, for the rest of the people of our country. At least we can go out do our jobs and support our families and make dead ends meet. That is the freedom given by the government. The government is also understanding the economic difficulties that are there amidst our people.
And once the pandemic gets over, I would love to go out and meet my friends and go out for clubbing. Also, travel! More than partying I miss traveling and although I haven't traveled a lot owing to my work schedule. But I will take out some time and take a leave for at least a week and go to some other country."
Akanksha Puri: I would like to use it to the fullest. I would love to go out to watch a movie in a theatre. I mean I’m a movie buff and not getting to watch a power pact one in a theatre due to the pandemic is quite frustrating and I believe for many too so I just hope we defeat this disease super soon and get to use this freedom to the fullest.
I think for me freedom means everything, including myself being able to roam around freely, party, or go out with family and friends of my loved ones. It has all come to a standstill kind of due to covid.
Nevertheless I hope we get over this and we all get to go out partying in the open air with no risks with our family and friends.
Priya Banerjee: Well, I feel the pandemic is still not over and we still have to be extremely cautious but I know one thing for sure when it’s all over we will never take freedom for granted. I will definitely travel as much as I can as I miss taking vacations the most. Also, travel back home more often as I haven’t been able to go back to Canada for almost a year and a half now.
She adds, "Freedom is just to be able to do things you wish to or travel places when you want to. Especially for someone like me who doesn’t have her family in India, I use to fly back home (Canada) every 4-5 months and now it’s been so long because of COVID. Just hope that we can all go back to our normal lives soonest".
Annkit Bhatia: I feel the pandemic has given us an opportunity to retrospect a lot of things! People have time and again reiterated that we were missing out on to a lot of things, which the pandemic has made us realize in the true sense.
But as far as the freedom part is concerned, We'll be living in a mask-free world! That's it. Apart from that, the hygiene factor is something that we should be prudent about even after the pandemic ends. And one thing that I would do after the pandemic would go on a vacation if my schedule permits me".
Abhinandan: During the pandemic, the basic thing that you can do is spend time with your family and value everything around you and explore new things. Basically, I did all those things which I was unable to do before. If you're working from home along with that being able to do all sorts of things which you were unable to before.
After the pandemic, you can go out and roam and do all things to prevent frustration, and if there are any relatives who stay in India or Abroad you can go out and visit them as well".
