For those who have come in late, we had informed you'll that a non bailable warrant had been issued against Swami by the Delhi High Court in a theft case filed by his brother in November. (Swami In Trouble: Delhi Court Issues Warrant Against Bigg Boss 10's Swami Omji, Nov 24 2016).
The FIR was registered against the swami by his younger brother Pramodh Jha. The latter accused him of breaking into his bicycle shop in Delhi's Lodhi Colony along with three men and stealing 11 bicycles, expensive spare parts, the sale deed of his house and various other important documents.
This isn’t the first time Swami is in legal trouble, we had compiled a list of all the times he was on the wrong side of the law (The Dark Past Of Bigg Boss 10 Contestant Swami Omji, Oct 20).
But it looks like this was not enough ground for the makers of the reality show (Colors & Endemol) to end his tenure in Bigg Boss 10. Don’t you think that they are being biased and unfair to the other housemates?
The whole idea of Bigg Boss is to make sure that the contestants are isolated from the outside world. But the makers have been making an exception for Swami, the most hated contestant on the show. And now, he has been granted permission to visit the outside world once again. (Bigg Boss 10, Day 50: Swamiji Is Back But All Is Not Well In The House, Dec 5).
Not only this. Swami Om’s lewd comments (Bigg Boss 10, Day 54: VJ Bani Has An UGLY SHOWDOWN With Swami, Dec 9) (Bigg Boss 10, Day 40: Housemates Boycott Swami Omji After Ugly Spat, Dec 25) and his unacceptable behaviour with women on the show (Bigg Boss 10, Day 66: Lopa Alleges Swami Om Lifted Her Dress Up!, Dec 21) has not affected his equation with the channel. The channel continues to favour him.
The list of Swami Om’s ill-doings on the show too is a long one. Just last week, during the Toofan task he strangled Rohan Mehra (Bigg Boss 10, Day 73: Swami Om Strips, Strangles Rohan Mehra, Dec 28) but wasn’t even given a warning. But the very next day, when Rohan retaliated and slapped him (Bigg Boss 10, Day 74: Rohan Mehra Wants To Quit Bigg Boss 10, Dec 29), the television hottie got nominated for the entire season!
It’s high time that Swami Om stops receiving special treatment in the Bigg Boss House.
We wonder why the makers have kept him in the house. Priyanka Jagga, who was the other troublemaker in the house was ousted the previous week (Bigg Boss 10, Day 69: Salman Khan Throws Priyanka Jagga Out Of The Bigg Boss House, Dec 24). Salman Khan had sent her packing without the process of public elimination.
So, why has Swami Om not met the same fate yet?
Is it because the channel is desperate for TRPs and is afraid that the godman’s exit will result in plummeting numbers. The show hosted by Salman Khan has failed to enter the Top 10 list over the past three months despite all sorts of stunts by the makers of Bigg Boss 10.
Are they hoping that the despicable Swami Om will be their saviour? For the sake of his fellow contestants as well as the audience, we hope not.
Meanwhile, here is the update from Day 78 from Bigg Boss 10.
Ushering in the new year, the housemates wake up dancing to the tunes of ‘Hum Dono Jaisa Hai Kaun Yahan’. Mona Lisa and Manu Punjabi, however, start the day with an argument owing to Mona waking him up in the middle of the night for a frivolous conversation. Seeing a crestfallen Mona, Manu tries to have a chat with her and finally apologizes to her, bringing a smile on her sad face.
Soon after, a fight erupts between Nitibha Kaul and Swami Om after he keeps interrupting her conversation with Manu, Mona and Manveer Gurjar. Irked, Nitibha asks Swami to leave the room.
Later, Bigg Boss announces the nominations process for the week. The housemates are divided into pairs- Swami Om- Bani, Mona- Manu, Lopa- Nitibha. Each pair is asked to mutually decide and select one person out of them to be nominated. Rohan is not part of this process (he is nominated for the entire season because of his aggressive behaviour). Manveer too is exempted since he is the captain of the house.
Except for Mona and Manu, all other pairs have a difference of opinion and are unable to reach a conclusion. Bani and Swami fail to keep aside their animosities and get into an argument in the confession room.
While Bani thinks she deserves to stay in the game and Swami Om needs to be nominated because of his bad record with all, Swami Om disagrees and wants Bani to be nominated. Nitibha and Lopa also find themselves in conflict and are unable to complete the process.
