Back in school, Republic Day used to be a special day for me. The day was filled with various activities from flag hoisting to singing the national anthem. I was and I still love our national flag whenever I see the tricolour, there is an extra emotion I experience. I am proud of my country. Republic Day is certainly just not a holiday for me, we should all take responsibility to make India the best country in this world. And for that the first thing we need is unity. We must say no to corruption. I am a proud Indian and especially after portraying the great Maharana Pratap on national television, my love and passion for my country has grown by leaps and bounds, Jai Hind.

I believe India has come a long way ever since the first Constitution was formed 70 years back. From enforcing numerous laws that would give each citizen a chance to be a proud Indian, to evolving and opening up to the thought of being a new age India that supports the growth of its citizens in every possible manner, we are only charging towards progress. While India has grown at each step, I feel we have also somewhere fallen back in taking those steps, especially when it comes to respecting mother nature and our surroundings. As a responsible citizen, I pledge to completely avoid the use of plastic in my daily activities while also contributing effectively to the ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign that was started by our Prime Minister. I hope several others, like me, also take this conscious step to make India a cleaner nation for its residents.

My Republic Day childhood memories are all related to my school. Republic Day school memories include early mornings in the school ground, our school principal used to do flag hoisting and after that we used to sing the national anthem.
The significance is huge. In today’s time when India is passing through a volatile phase, we should all take care to follow the laws. We are very casual when it comes to following laws. So, I pledge to make this a better place for all of us.

One of my fondest memories of Republic Day is watching the live telecast of Republic Day Parade in Delhi. I used to wait for that, at that age I used to be amazed to see the power of the Indian Army and their expertise.
As an Indian, every day is an important day. We all lead a very stressful life and we have no time for practically anything. That’s a scar. This Republic Day, let’s make an effort to live a healthy and stress-free life.

I am from Delhi, so on 26th January, we used to get up early morning to see the parade. We used to see the balloons and the aircrafts as well, which was really fascinating. It was a very special day for me. We used to learn a lot about our culture and I always used to get motivated to do something good for our country. It’s a very proud moment to see where we all have reached throughout these years and how our country is progressing.

My Republic day childhood memories are of how we used to have a half day in school and we had to wear white clothes. As I was a house captain, I remember having to give a speech, then the flag hoisting and then, at the end, we used to get those bundi ke ladoo. So, these are the memories that I have. 26th January definitely matters because it’s the day when the constitution was formed. Any country can be free but it gets its identity when there are a set of rules written for it to function. I think India has one of the best and biggest constitutions, so it’s a very important day which our generation should know the importance of and take pride.
